The Finn MacCuhals Taupo Mens First Team had a good win on the road against Ngaruawahia on Saturday, reversing the result from earlier in the season when Ngara took the points at Crown Park. An impressive hat trick from young Arm Phuttarat helped the Blues to a 3-1 win (full report on the mens football page). This weekend sees the boys on the road again, this time to Whakatane for what will be another difficult affair.
The Westerman Property Solutions Mens Reserves won the game of the season in beating Ngongotaha in the CNS Bowl semi final played at Ferguson Park Otumoetai. The Ressies travelled with the bare eleven and had Alan Tye sent off in the second period of extra time after normal time ended in a 2 all stalemate. The additional half an hour still didn't produce a winner so a penalty shoot out decided the match with Taupo coming out on top, see the full report on the mens football page. This week the boys host Tauranga City United kicking off at 2.30pm at Crown Park.
The Mole and Chicken Womens First Team were behind early in their encounter with Papamoa at Crown Park on Sunday, they fought back in usual fashion and looked to have secured a brilliant draw with only minutes left on the clock but Papamoa played until the very last minute and snatched the win 4-3. This weekend the girls play hosts for the second Sunday in a row with Whakatane Town Womens First Team visit Crown Park for a 12.30pm kick off.
